The SCATTATA typical dessert of Alia village in the province of Palermo, located on the lower Madonie and a unique dessert of its kind, finds its originality thanks to the recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation for more than a century, the its peculiarity is the simplicity in the ingredients that compose it and its irregular shape that differentiates every single "shot".
From ancient traditions, in fact, we see that all the ingredients could be easily found from the countryside surrounding the tiny town, the main ingredient is almond which is also derived from native almond varieties, the almond to be used must be without the integument that covers the seed and then toasted. The second ingredient is soft wheat flour. The ancient variety used is the easy-to-find Mallorca used for the confectionery production of the time.
Finally we find sugar and water with the addition of natural flavors. This product is very particular, today the production is made entirely by hand without the aid of some machines and above all thanks to the skill of our craftsmen who have been able to maintain and continue to pass on our tradition for a unique and inimitable product.
